Classical portrait of a bearded man was executed in 1824 by Joseph Tremier, the painter and restorer who lived in Vienna in the 19th century (1805–1885). Here is an overview of the most important historical facts and mentions of his life: Private life: He and his wife Franziska (Fanny) adopted the orphaned Marie Viktoria Liebenthaler. She grew up with them and later achieved great fame as the renowned opera singer Marie Wilt, performing Wagnerian roles at the Vienna Court Opera. Artistic work : He created, for example, the altarpiece of St. Margaret (a copy after Raphael from 1832) in the parish church of Grillenberg.
